If you abandoned me

Ancient Arabic Sufi poetry of Al-Hallaj. Translation by OTBA (( me ☺))

If I am forsaken, then who remains for me?

Who holds the key to my perfection?

And who will soothe my weary soul?

O my everything and nothing…

I adored You with only a piece of myself,

Yet every fiber of my being loved You in return.

O my everything…

So be my own. For if You are not, then who else could be?

O my all and kin…

In times of hardship and fragility…

I possess nothing but my soul. So accept it,

For this is the least I can offer…
