National Geographic aired an experiment conducted on two monkeys in adjacent cages. The keeper gave each monkey a small stone, and then asked them to return it to him.

He then rewarded each monkey, the first monkey returned the stone to the keeper, who gave him a slice of cucumber. The monkey jumped with joy and eagerly devoured the cucumber. The second monkey returned the stone to the keeper, who gave him a bunch of red grapes, which was a tastier and greater reward.

When the first monkey saw this, his excitement for the cucumber began to fade. The second time, the first monkey returned the stone, and the keeper gave him the slice of cucumber. The monkey took it without enthusiasm and did not eat it, waiting to see what the second monkey would get. When he saw that it was a bunch of grapes, he threw the cucumber in the keeper’s face angrily.

The third time, the keeper gave the first monkey the stone, then the monkey immediately threw the stone back in the keeper’s face, not waiting for the reward. Even though he was happy with the slice of cucumber the first time, when he saw that someone else was making the same effort and getting a bigger reward, he began to hate the cucumber he once loved.

The experiment proved that social justice is innate and not acquired, and it is not an exaggerated demand. Justice is the foundation of satisfaction and the proper conduct of life, which we sorely lack in our lives.
